One of the Arizona-Nevada Academy of Science's primary missions is to recognize and stimulate achievement in science education and to foster scientific inquiry at all levels.

Research

Student Research Grants

The Arizona-Nevada Academy of Science provide research funding to students from high school up through graduate school. The grant funds may be used for any activity directly associated with an ongoing research project (equipment purchase, supplies, publication of research results, travel to field site, etc.)

All grants awarded by the Arizona-Nevada Academy of Science are sent to their affiliated high school, college or university for use of the recipient only. Grant monies cannot be used for administrative or institutional services of any kind.

Graduate Student Grants
Graduate Student Grants of $300 are made twice a year, each time to two students enrolled in a Graduate Programs at Nevada or Arizona Universities, and who are members of the Academy. Deadlines for submission of applications are are November 15 and March 15.
Undergraduate Student Grants
Undergraduate Student Grants of $200 are made twice a year, each time to two undergraduate students enrolled in a Science Programs at Nevada or Arizona Universities or Colleges, and who are members of the Academy, or whose advisor is a member of the Academy. Deadlines for submission of applications are November 15 and March 15.
High School Grants
High School Grants of $100 are made each year to four students in Nevada or Arizona. The funds may be used only for activities and items directly associated with scientific research projects. Applications are due December 15.

Travel

Travel and Meeting Grants

Each Spring the Arizona-Nevada Academy of Science hosts an interdisciplinary gathering to discuss science, mathematics, and engineering at an academic institution in either Arizona or Nevada.

Student participants can apply to have their meeting travel expenses reimbursed.

Student authors of posters for the annual meeting can also apply to have the printing costs of their posters reimbursed, up to $50.00.
